- INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Department of Veteran Affairs intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Life Technologies Corporation. This order will be for service and maintenance to the Kingfisher Flex 96 and 7500 Fast DX benchtop automated extraction system located at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center Richmond VA. The certified technician shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, lodging and supervision necessary to perform preventative maintenance for the Kingfisher Flex 96 and 7500 Fast DX benchtop automated extraction system located in the BioMed laboratory at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VAMC, 1201 Broad Rock Blvd, Richmond, VA 23249. All work shall be performed by personnel qualified to work on the specific equipment. All work performed shall provide complete support for the King Fisher Flex 96: All parts, labor, and travel for corrective maintenance, annual preventative maintenance, on-site response time of 2 business days after receipt of a service call, Telephone and email access to instrument technical support, Telephone and email access to application technical support, remote monitoring and DX service, which provides for notification to customer of instrument failures or errors that are reported by remote monitoring software. All work shall be performed by personnel qualified to work on the specific equipment and shall provide complete support for the King Fisher 7500 Fast DX, all parts, labor, and travel for corrective maintenance, annual preventative maintenance, on-site response time of 2 business days after receipt of a service call, telephone and email access to instrument technical support, telephone and email access to application technical support, instrument recalibration as required, operational Qualification/Instrument Performance verification service as needed. This proposed contract action is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR Part 13. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all expressions of interest received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. Interested contractors may identify their capability to provide the services prescribed within this notice and should provide sufficient data for the government to determine them as a comparable alternative to the intended source by sending capability statements in reference to this requirement no later than 12:00 PM EST, September 8, 2021 to: warren.pennil@va.gov.
