- This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 �Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items,� as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIAID-2086494 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2021-06, Effective 07/12/2021.� The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a small business size standard size of 1,000 employees. This requirement is not set-aside for small business. This is Brand-name. Background and description of requirement: The VRC/Vaccine production program/Analytical Development group is responsible for developing assays used for release and characterization of therapeutic and vaccine candidates for Toxicology studies as well as Reference Standards to treat diseases including: Covid-19, HIV, Influenza, and Malaria. Fast, accurate, linear and precise concentration measurements is required for moving forward with a candidate drug to GMP manufacturing and clinical trials. One very important part of this process is determining the concentration of the therapeutics and vaccine candidates. The Vaccine Production Program (VPP) is the development arm of the Vaccine Research Center. The mission of the VRC is to create and develop potentially lifesaving vaccines for CoVID-19, HIV, Ebola, Zika, and other known pathogens and get these potentially lifesaving products into the clinic.� The VPP analytical development team are in need of a SoloVPE system; to run trials on VRC01.23LS, CAP256V2LS.
