Description
PURPOSE: This Request for Information (RFI) is issued as market research to determine industry�s capabilities to provide enterprise software or software suites meeting Real Property Asset Management (RPAM), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and Project Management (PM) capabilities at the Sensitive But Unclassified level. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or reimburse any costs associated with the preparation of responses. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI marked �Proprietary� will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responses to this RFI will assist U.S. Department of State (DOS) in determining the potential level of interest, competition adequacy, and technical capabilities of commercial vendors to provide the required products and services. The Government does not guarantee any action beyond this RFI.� BACKGROUND: ��The mission of the U.S. Department of State (DOS or the Department) is to advance the interests of the American people, their safety and economic prosperity, by leading America�s foreign policy through diplomacy, advocacy, and assistance.� The Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations� (OBO) mission is to provide safe, secure, and functional facilities for the conduct of U.S. diplomacy and the promotion of U.S. interests worldwide.� �In support of the mission OBO directs the worldwide overseas buildings program for DoS and the U.S. government community serving abroad under the authority of the Chiefs of Mission.� OBO manages and supports the full building life cycle including design, construction, acquisition, maintenance, operations, and sale of real properties and the use of sales proceeds.� OBO�s primary role in the building life cycle is that of an �owner� reviewing and managing the quality and completeness of work performed by contracted architects, engineers, construction specialists and maintenance specialists supporting design, design-build, build, rehabilitation, and operation/maintenance projects.� Please see attachments for additional details.
