- Page 2 of 2 Page 2 of 2 36C24221Q1465 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE AUTOLITH TOUCH EHL GENERATOR SYRACUSE VAMC The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office NC02 in conjunction with the Syracuse VA Medical Center, 800 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13210, intend to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The NAICS code is 3391127 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Boston Scientific for Autolith touch electrohydraulic lithotripsy (EHL) generator. This contract will be a Firm Fixed Price sole source. Syracuse VAMC requires the purchase of an electrohydraulic lithotripsy (EHL) generator. This equipment will help with patient treatment for stones. There are currently several veterans that need this intervention performed on a yearly basis. While it is not a high-volume intervention, having the availability of the service will create a significant cost savings over time. Each procedure performs on a veteran needs to be repeated in the community when the veteran requires the EHL intervention. It not only creates an addition cost to the VA but creates added risk to the patient by needing another procedure requiring anesthesia sedation. Other persons may identify their interest by responding to this requirement by Friday, September 13, 2021 at 10 am EDT. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
