Description
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, supplies, and tools�necessary to perform cleaning, maintenance, inspection, repairs, or replacements to elevators, escalators, equipment, appurtenances, and accessories. Equipment shall be industrial grade. Equipment, appurtenances, and accessories including the following: hoist machinery, controllers, selectors, worn gears, thrusts, bearings, brake magnet coils, brake shoes, hoist ropes, compensating ropes, step chains, rollers, handrails, governor ropes, brushes, windings, commutators, rotating elements, contacts, coils, resistors for operation and motor circuits, magnet frames, cams, car door and hoisting door hangers, tracks, and guides, door operating devices, limit switches, interlocks and contacts, and all other elevator signal accessory equipment complete, where included as part of the elevator installation at the time the bid for this work is submitted. Items found on initial inspection at start of contract as pre-existing Major deficiencies will be reported to KO for discussion as to exemption from complete coverage. The Contractor is responsible for replacement labor of all light bulbs, tubes, sockets and receptacles for hoist ways, pits, elevator cars, and signal systems. Particular attention is to be given to maintaining all emergency signal systems and light units in an operable condition. The Contractor shall notify the Government of all malfunctions that may require other repair qualifications such as a Licensed Electrician. License. The Contractor shall be licensed in the State of Oregon in the elevator repair business. A copy of the license shall be furnished to the COR seven days before the pre-work conference. Materials. In performing the work under this contract, the Contractor shall provide only parts recommended by the manufacturer of the equipment for replacement or repair, and to use only those lubricants of a standard or grade recommended by the manufacturer of the equipment. If the Contractor discovers, in the course of needed repairs, that original equipment by the manufacturer (OEM) has been modified by previous Contractors, it is required for this Contractor to repair or replace per manufacturer recommendations or agreed upon engineered solution.
