Description

Pre-Solicitation Notice of Intent to Sole Source Pre-Solicitation Notice for notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract for a FIRM FIXED PRICE CONTRACT with GLOBAL LIFE SCIENCES SOLUTIONS USA LLC, 100 RESULTS WAY, MALBOROUGH, MA 01752-3078: DUNS No. 011658242. The purpose of this acquisition is to obtain the Cytiva Protein Purification System called AKTA go, which is a small and compact liquid chromatography system that allows the lab to perform routine protein purification with ease while allowing for efficient use of bench and cold cabinet space due to its small foot print. The VA will use this piece of equipment to make large quantities of purified Cas enzyme that will allow the lab to standardize our assays and allow the lab to work with a single batch of enzyme for multiple experiments. The White River Junction VA Medical Center Research Department requires this equipment for the isolation of proteins produced in either bacterial or mammalian cells. The AKTA go provides various pre-filled cartridges (columns) that allow binding of proteins either to nickel (the moiety that histidine binds to), or maltose (the moiety that maltose binding protein binds to). Global Life Sciences Solutions USA LLC is the only vendor/contractor that can provide the AKTA go. This acquisition will not be competed. Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to SAM.gov, Contracting Opportunities. The NAICS is 334516. The size standard is 1,000 Employees. The PSC/FSC is 6515. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
