- Description
- The Department of Energy (DOE) intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price award to a single source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(i)(ii), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements, Newswise. The US Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Science (SC), intends to purchase a subscription to Newswise, located at 215 5th SW Suite 100 Charlottesville, VA, 22903 for one base year with three option years. The purchase will be on a sole source basis per FAR Subsection 13.103-1(b), posting news content for ten SC-stewarded labs to the Newswise platform. The Newswise platform uploads and aggregates research stories for science writers/science journalist subscribers in the form of a news feed. The sole source justification is based on the need for a news distribution service that targets the scientific community and specifically the DOE SC. Newswise has also built a portal that captures DOE SC scientific news from both labs and universities partners, providing timely, current digests of scientific news relevant to the scientific community, specifically DOE SC. Newswise also provides the most comprehensive services for providing scientific news and can meet the government's requirements. No other vendor offers the capability to aggregate and curate a wire feed of science content from the DOE national laboratories or university research funded by DOE or provides DOE the capability to monitor and guide the selection of the content stream.� No solicitation package will be issued. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ), AND NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any vendor who believes it can meet the requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which will be considered only if received by 4 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Sept 22, 2021. Responses to this posting must be in writing and submitted to rachel.warrick@science.doe.gov no later than the time mentioned above and date. A determination not to compete this requirement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the government's discretion. Please note that any prospective offeror must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov under FAR part 4.11.
