Description
Revision 1 16-SEP-21 There has been a Revision to the attached Request for Information for the operation of a South Dakota Warehousing Facility and Laydown Yard for the LBNF-DUNE project. Please see the updated file attached. The following items have been updated: Points 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 in the Request for Information Operation of the South Dakota Warehousing Facility Laydown Yard and Inventory Management System for the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility Project have been corrected to reflect the accurate weight in the Volume of structural steel as 2,291,677 mt. Point 1.2 in the Request for Information Operation of the South Dakota Warehousing Facility Laydown Yard and Inventory Management System for the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility Project the table has been corrected to reflect feet in the last three columns. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This RFI is specific to the storage of the cryostat structural envelope steel. The eventual contractor will be required to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, weather protection, dunnage, supervision, and the necessary services to provide the receipt, handling, storage, and loading for delivery of the structural steel. The LBNF/DUNE-US project will also require accommodation for their QA/QC team at the storage facility to provide QA/QC services. Materials will consist of prefabricated and pre-painted steel beams. It is up to the service to provide an adequately sized secure storage (laydown) area and equipment to handle the steel. Some space will have to be set aside for possible paint and chip repair of the steel beams. The solicitation will seek proposals for storage services at a location within a reasonable distance from Lead, SD. Interested and potential offerors are required to propose storage space and logistics services that meet FRA's/SDSD's requirements for the project materials' receipt, storage, protection, and re-delivery. However, any ultimate contractor need not maintain specific open storage space for the LBNF/DUNE project when storage is not required at the time. In addition, it is anticipated that the storage will be used continuously throughout the contract but not always to the maximum capacity expected. FRA/SDSD would prefer a storage facility within 100 miles of Lead, SD, near a significant thoroughfare and possibly at or near an intermodal facility.
