Description
The Dept of VA has a requirement to expand the Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. This project will construct additional gravesites and cemetery improvements on the existing cemetery (expansion of Admin bldg. and renovation of Public Information Center space, new Honor Guard Bldg, new Maintenance complex storage facilities, Committal Shelter upgrades) and includes development of approximately 50 acres of land, approximately 23,786 pre-placed crypt full casket gravesites, 904 oversize pre-placed crypt casket gravesites, approximately 4,982 traditional in-ground cremains and approximately 8,816 columbarium niches. Also includes new roads and repair of existing roads, rear maintenance entrance, parking, access, utilities, communication infrastructure improvement, physical security upgrades to facilities, site improvements, signage and site furnishings for the entire cemetery, new irrigation system, improved drainage, Facility Condition Assessment improvements. The Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery Ph 3 expansion is planned as a Design-Bid-Build acquisition for award in FY21. The Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM) will provide 100% design plans and specifications to prospective offerors.
