Description
Police CCTV Operations Control Upgrade - Questions The following questions were asked by interested contractors regarding Solicitation Number 36C24221Q1179 - Police CCTV Operations Control Upgrade. Q: Pg 14 and 19, Brooklyn/St Albans, Section A.b. - ""console will be resurfaced with new hardwood countertops and enamel paint to factory finish"" - please advise, is the contractor expected to include this re-finish work in our quote or will the VA be responsible for this? A: Vendor will be responsible to complete refinishing. Q: Pg 14 and 19, Brooklyn/St Albans, Section A.c. - ""entire room will be steam sanitized...by CINTAS"" - is the contractor responsible for including this work in our quote?  If so, can you provide a POC for CINTAS for us to contact regarding a price quote? A: Yes vendor will be responsible for including this work. Vendor can also provide their own sanitizer as long as it has steam cleaning capability. CINTAS POC Union NJ Tel 908 737 0800 or Yonkers Tel 914 669 5062 Q: Pg 15, Section G.c. - ""film will be installed by a certified 3M authorized dealer"" - does the facility have an existing contractor they work with for this?   If so, can you provide that contractor's information so we can coordinate this portion of the SOW? A: No, the VA does not have a  contract  with  any 3M authorized dealers. Vendor will be responsible to provide the necessary requirement. Q: How many U s are needed for equipment in each console? A: 2 units L shape for each console. Q: What are the dimensions and configuration required for each Sight-Line security console at the (3) locations? Pg 15/17/19 Section B.c. - PoE switches - can you provide a count for each location and how many ports for each? A: L Console - Approx 10 L x 6 L x 40 depth All 3 locations POE Switches ( approx. 4 switches for each location) Q: Pg 15, Section F.c. - can you provide an estimated length of the requested fiber run? A: Approx 20 for each location Q: Pg 15, Section F.d. and G. - Can you provide the required specs for the 12 strand fiber optic cable requested? A: Any 0.25 to 0.5 mm in diameter fiber optic cables Q: Pg 15/17/19, Section E. - refers to a ""network ready modem"" - can you advise who the current service provider is for network connectivity? A: The vendor will be responsible to provide ISP which is going to be stand alone and not connected to VA network. VA IT and VA Police will have control of the modem. Q: Will the Cintas steam cleaning be paid for by the VA or Contractor?  If by contractor, please provide their contact information or a copy of their quote. A: Yes vendor will be responsible for including this work. Vendor can also provide their own sanitizer as long as it has steam cleaning capability. CINTAS POC Union NJ Tel 908 737 0800 or Yonkers Tel 914 669 5062 Q: Please provide drawings, dimensions, specifications and photos of the countertops that must be refinished.  A: L Console - Approx 10 L x 6 L x 40 depth All 3 locations POE Switches ( approx. 4 switches for each location) No photos cannot be provided at this time Q: Cable, fiber, and network lines must be relocated.  Please provide drawings and distances of routing so bidders can price this portion of the scope.  Can lines be open air or must they be in conduit? A: Approx 20  fiber optic cable for each location. Lines do not have to be in conduit. Q: The SOW requires the supply of 550 camera licenses, but no cameras are requested.  Will new cameras added by contract modification? A: The cameras may be added as a modification. The priority is for the operations control to be upgraded. Q: For each location how many cameras will be on each system and of those how many will be existing working cameras that are migrated?  How many new ones will be supplied by the contractor? A: For Manhattan, approx. 200 total cameras For Brooklyn, approx. 180 total cameras For SA, approx. 160 total cameras Existing cameras that are functioning Manhattan 100 cameras Brooklyn 90 cameras SA 70 cameras Required new cameras Manhattan 100 cameras Brooklyn 100 cameras SA 90 cameras Q: Provide drawings indicating cameras locations. A: Due to security regulations, drawings cannot provide camera locations until contract award Q: Provide photos of existing hardware locations and equipment. A: No photos cannot be provided at this time Q: What is the quantity and dimensions of the windows that must have film installed? A: Approx. 12 H x 16 L Q: Is network connectivity between the sites required? A: Yes Q: What modem costs must be covered by the contractor?  Is for warranty coverage or internet connectivity? A: Yes, modem cost will be covered by the vendor for first 2 years after contract award. Yes, vendor will be responsible for ISP but VA IT and VA Police will have control on the modem.
