- THIS SOURCES SOUGHT/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IS ISSUED FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSED ONLY AND IS NOT CONSIDERED A SOLICITATION. The purpose of this sources sought/RFI is to gain knowledge of businesses that are capable of fulfilling the following work requirement: SCOPE OF WORK AIR COMPRESSORS & VACUUM PUMPS PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE & REPAIR SERVICE VAMC, PROVIDENCE, RI The contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, materials; to include tools and parts, transportation, supervision, permits and disposal necessary to perform required preventive maintenance and repair for air compressors and vacuum pumps at the VA Medical Center, 830 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, RI 02908. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE The contractor shall provide quarterly preventive maintenance to 17 critical air compressors and vacuum pumps on the equipment listed below. Check sight glass/ oil level. Check electrical readings. Check Hours. Check for unusual internal and external noises. Check for leaks or unusual odors. Check fasteners and hardware. Inspect pressure relief. Inspect auto drain. Inspect belts, pulleys, and couplings. Inspect air dryers Inspect gauges and regulators. Change/clean separator. Change INT filter. Change lube oil and filter. Parts Contractor shall include a list of all parts covered by Preventive Maintenance with the cost markup. Contractor shall provide the cost mark-up for parts not included in the Preventive Maintenance. Additional Equipment Additional equipment may be added or existing equipment removed from the list when necessary to meet the changing needs of the facility which may be required throughout the life of the contract and shall be considered within scope. Written Reports Written reports for the work completed and recommendations on repairs shall be required with a cost proposal included after each PM and/or service call. Emergency & Repair Service Work The contractor will be required to provide 24/7 response to emergency air compressor and vacuum system problems. Response time will be with-in 2 hours time frame. The contractor will provide a straight time hourly rate and an overtime hourly rate for emergency call- ins and routine repair service. Performance Work Statement Tasks The contractor shall be available to perform the semi-annual preventive maintenance on a schedule that is satisfactory to the hospital. The contractor shall work continuously on preventive maintenance once the work has started until all the units specified in the contract are completed. The contractor shall provide legible and complete reports on all equipment that received preventive maintenance including the repairs required and a cost proposal to perform the repair. The contractor shall respond to all emergency repair call-ins within the 2-hour time frame specified. The contractor shall provide highly qualified technicians with adequate training to resolve all the repair issues encountered. Infection Control The Contractor shall conform to the infection control measures as specified in the attached Construction Specification for Infection Control. Preventive Maintenance Service will normally but not always be performed in a separate work area not subject to all the infection control procedures. Repairs and emergency repairs may be conducted in patient rooms and other hospital areas that are subject to infection control procedures. Work Hours and Project Sequence Routine PM and repair work can start as early as 7:00 am and work past 4:30 pm weekdays. Weekend work needs to be approved by the FMS Supervisor. Emergency service work will occur as conditions dictate. Responses to this sources sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought, a solicitation announcement may be published. Responses to this sources sought notice are not considered adequate responses for a solicitation announcement. Responses to this sources sought/RFI are due by 12 pm EST time on September 27, 2021. Responses to this notice shall be submitted via email to jerry.choinski@va.gov. Telephone responses shall not be accepted. If a solicitation is issued it shall be announced at a later date, and all interest parties must response to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this request for information. Responses to this notice are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The NAICS code for this requirement is 811310 and a small size standard of $8,000,000.00
