- Multifunctional Information Distribution System � Joint Tactical Radio System (MIDS-JTRS) �Sources Sought NOTICE: This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only. This Sources Sought notice is for market research purposes in determining interested business vendors capable of performing this type of requirement and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government for any actual procurement of supplies or services. This notice does not constitute a solicitation (e.g. Request for Proposal or Request for Quotations) or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. This notice does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. 1.2 The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 336413 Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing with a corresponding size standard of 1,250 employees. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement.� The Government is interested in all businesses to include small, 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns.� The Government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code and respond to this notice with a capability statement if your company can fulfill this requirement. Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years.� Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. BACKGROUND: The A-10C is incorporating the capabilities of the MIDS-JTRS, which includes Concurrent Multi-Net (CMN)-4, Concurrent Contention Receive (CCR), Link16 Enhanced Throughput (LET), Tactical Targeting Networking Technology (TTNT), and potentially Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN).� The MIDS-JTRS also meets the Crypto Modernization and Frequency Remapping mandates, which have been mandated from the NSA. REQUIREMENTS: 3.1 The contractor shall: Perform a complete Environmental Cooling System (ECS) cooling analysis and characterization on the A-10C.� If ECS cooling is found to not be sufficient, provide solutions to resolve ECS cooling issues. Perform a complete RF co-site analysis on the A-10C, along with a characterization of the RF environment of the A-10C.� The co-site analysis shall include design of the RF installation, implementation, routing, RF antennas placement, switches, blankers, and any other RF equipment that will need to be installed or modified. Perform wiring harness design for both power and communication between the MIDS-JTRS and the Mission Processor, both for the CICU and CICS, and power generators.� This design shall include the routing of the wiring harness, and propose a solution for a minimum of SECRET/Red communication. �Two designs shall be performed: 1553 implementation Ethernet implementation Perform mechanical analysis and design for hardware mounting that is required for the MIDS-JTRS.� A part of this analysis would be to find the best location to install the MIDS-JTRS, and identify any currently installed equipment that would be required for moving and/or removal. 3.2 The contractor shall assist in any of the following, if requested: OFP development Installation of the MIDS-JTRS at the following locations: Hardware Integration Lab (HIL) System Integration Lab (SIL) Groundhawg Development Test Operation Test Trial Vehicle Install (TVI) TO Validation and Verification During final hardware delivery and installation 3.3 The contractor shall provide an option for production of all required installation hardware, not including the MIDS-JTRS.
