- Description
- The USSF CSCO is seeking information for potential sources for providing Inmarsat L-band Tactical Satellite (L-TAC) Services. Inmarsat L-TAC enables Ultra High Frequency (UHF) and Very High Frequency (VHF) military tactical radio users to operate voice and data circuits between small terminals (tactical radios) across a defined operating area. Inmarsat L-TAC provides global, satellite-based, beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) communications utilizing the same tactical radios as UHF SATCOM. Through Inmarsat L-TAC, instead of connecting to a UHF antenna, the radios connect to an L-band antenna through a small frequency converter unit. Service is implemented using a single hop through an Inmarsat-4 satellite via directly connected L-band uplinks and downlinks.
