- STATEMENT OF NEED GENERAL: The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) department at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH) has a new requirement for brand name or equal Cybernet workstation equipment, hardware, and support to include Paradigm Independent Communication Interface Standardization software (PICIS) and license. BACKGROUND: The JAHVH ICU department currently have existing PICIS workstations within the hospital that all staff are trained and familiar with. The new workstations are able to integrate with the existing equipment, the current VA software Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and PICIS software. Providing clinicians with one contiguous record that spans between Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Operating Room (OR), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) ICU and any other areas to allowing a seamless flow of information and ensure patient s progress is tracked and documented. Communication between the (PACU), (OR), (SICU) and (ICU) are vital to making the transition of care throughout each department. Multiple rooms with all the same equipment makes it proficient for the staff to perform thorough testing and monitoring safely and effectively to all Veterans. PURPOSE: This request is to upgrade and replace existing PICIS workstations and equipment consisting of 96 medical and surgical beds and 40 ICU beds that will provide the support to all the critical ICU s rooms in the New Bed Tower Activation of Building 100. SCOPE: James A Haley Veterans Hospital is requesting contractors provide equipment that meets or exceeds the physical, functional and performance of the listed salient characteristics in this section. The equipment feature is essential to the technical requirements to meet the need of the government.
