Description
Agency/Office: Overseas Missions Location: USAID/West Africa Title: Notice of Intent for an increase in the Total Estimated Cost (TEC) of the REWARD II Task Order, West Africa Activity USAID/West Africa hereby provides notice of its intention to modify Task Order Nr. 72062420F00002, under the PEACE IQC Nr. AID-OAA-I-13-00058 with Creative Associates to increase the TEC by approximately $3 million. Under this proposed modification, the Contractor will continue to assist governments and other key decision-makers in the region to make more informed decisions and to be able to respond to potential violence triggers in target countries where democratic backsliding and the level of fragility is increasing. Grants will be provided to civil society organizations to implement both prevention and response actions. Through the provision of small grants and capacity building, the program will enable national and local civil society actors to implement recommendations with the potential of mitigating conflict and violence in target countries. Grants will be implemented largely through the provision of technical assistance and training to help ECOWAS, national and local actors achieve these objectives and engage more quickly and effectively in targeted regions. The exact composition of the small grants portfolio will vary widely depending on the conflict risks in each country. The Contractor will ensure that all efforts are well-coordinated, complementary, and non-duplicative. The exact countries where Creative Associates will be tasked to work will be determined in coordination with the U.S. Embassies and USAID operating units (when present) in West Africa. USAID grants will seek to engage local communities to address violent extremist and communal conflicts such as farmers-herders conflicts, through the development of platforms for dialogue, awareness around social cohesion, monitoring and countering violent extremist views, and engagement of youth and women as peace mobilizers. The activities to be completed are not new; they are in line with the current scope of the REWARD II Task Order. Contracting Office Address: USAID/West Africa No. 24 Fourth Circular Road, Cantonments, P.O.
