Description
USAF request the purchase of a one-time service Teardown Test Evaluation and Repair of the DC Motor Recondition with the following requirements/specifications: Requested Services: All work must meet EASA AR100 standard. Armature: Remove bearings and record size and type of bearings. Thoroughly clean armature and commutator and bake to remove moisture. Perform Meg test after armature has been cleaned and baked and record results. Varnish treat armature. Turn and undercut armature to standard roundness, surface and slot depth. Dynamically balance armature within tolerance based on operating speed. Measure all mechanical fits (bearing journals, bearing housings, keyway, shaft extensions, seal surfaces, etc.) and record results. Make determination if any mechanical components require repair. Field Frame: Clean and bake field frame and all windings. Perform Meg and balance tests on all windings after windings have been cleaned and baked and record results. Varnish treat all field frame windings. Recondition, bead blast and coat with clear sealer the complete brush rack assembly. Meg and record resistance to ground of brush rack assembly. Perform Meg tests on all windings after final assembly and record. Reconnect, insulate and secure all winding inter connections. Install brushes and brush springs and replace if necessary. Set Neutral on brush rack assembly. Measure and record No Load amps, and speed vs. volts and compare to nameplate. Isolate all circuits, remove brushes, balance test field and commutator coils and meg test each circuit (Innerpole, Field, Compensating, Series, Armature, etc.). Record incoming readings. Match mark ALL components that could be removed during disassembly process.
