- Description
- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is requesting information on vendor capabilities to provide flight hardware, instrument integration, environmental and functional testing, and mission operations for Cal X-1, a mission to be proposed to the 2022 Astrophysics Pioneer announcement of opportunity (AO). The Cal X-1 requirements are presented below. Responses shall describe capabilities for available flight hardware and mission support services, with particular attention to navigation. If any of the requirements cannot be met with the available hardware, please state current capability and if a Non-Recurring Engineering effort (NRE) could be pursued to meet the requirement (and associated cost). The intent of the Cal X-1 team is to narrow down the payload configuration options based on responses to this RFI. Cal X-1 may issue a partnership opportunity document (POD) in the near future. Interested parties with the capabilities necessary to meet the requirements described herein should submit a capability statement indicating the ability to perform some or all aspects of the effort, and a ROM firm fixed price estimate. Request For Information (RFI) Only. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes it does not constitute as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. While our intent may be to team with an industry partner(s), we are not bound by this RFI to do so. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Government is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. The RFI responders are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested partys expense. It is not NASA's intent to publicly disclose vendor proprietary information obtained during this solicitation. To the full extent that it is protected pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act and other laws and regulations, information identified by a respondent as ""Proprietary or Confidential"" will be kept confidential. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on SAM.gov. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement.
