Description

The Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ� 07806-5000 on behalf of the Joint Program Manager Office Towed Artillery Systems (PM-TAS) is releasing this special notice to inform interested parties of the Government�s interest to establish an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) under 10 U.S.C. � 2371b. Background: This requirement is in support of the multiyear Capability Assessment activity as defined in the U.S. Army�s Artillery Modernization Strategy.� The goal of the Capability Assessment is to gather information in support of future U.S. Army decisions regarding Next Generation Howitzer (NGH) and Towed Howitzer requirements. The Next Generation Howitzer is intended to be a more mobile and survivable 155mm system with a greater firing range and greater volume of fire than current howitzer systems. Purpose: The government intends to announce a Prototype Proposal Opportunity Notice (PPON) resulting in the award(s) of a prototype Other Transaction Agreement(s) (OTA), under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2371b for: Characterize existing 155mm Next Generation Howitzer systems versus baseline Next Generation�Howitzer requirements via analysis and testing. � Integration of an Offeror�s armament onto a U.S. truck system. � Integration of a U.S. Next Generation Cannon into an Offeror�s armament. � Modification of Offeror�s armament to increase Volume of Fire. � Integration of U.S. Digital Fire Control onto an Offeror�s 155mm Next Generation Howitzer System. A contract or agreement will not be awarded from this announcement.
