Page 2 of 3 The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 6, Hampton VA 23667, intends to negotiate a sole source Firm-Fixed Price contract for Preventative Maintenance and unscheduled repair services on Medivator s Endoscope Reprocessor for the Salem VAMC with. in accordance with 41 U.S.C. ยง3304(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source. This is not a request for competitive offers and no solicitation is available. Market research has determined that these services are highly specialized are only available from a single source without an unacceptable delay or duplication of cost and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to award the contract to Medivators INC., 140605 28th Avenue N, Minneapolis, MN, 55447; Cage Code 0JG25. Both models of Medivators Endoscope Reprocessors can only be serviced by an OEM-trained Field Service Engineer with access to the proprietary components, software and diagnostic test software required to maintain and verify the equipment is operating to OEM specifications. This synopsis announcement is being issued for information purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or request for competitive proposals. If a firm believes it is capable of meeting the Government's requirement, it may identify their interest and capability to the Contracting Officer within three (3) calendar days of this publication by contacting Keicha Passley via e-mail at Keicha.Passley@va.gov Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. Those interested firms must indicate whether they are large, small, small-disadvantaged, 8(a) or woman owned business and whether they are U.S. or foreign owned. Respondents who submit proprietary data shall clearly mark the data with appropriate markings. The Government will not pay for any information submitted as a result of this synopsis. This synopsis shall not be construed as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. *Please see attached Proprietary Letter Page 3 of 3 To: VA and Government Purchasing department Subject: Position statement on sole authorizing of service on Medivators products All Automated Endoscope Preprocessor (AER) must be serviced by an authorized Medivators factory trained service engineer utilizing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) direct replacement parts to ensure safe and predictable performance. All of our products have been cleared for sale by the United States Food and Drug Administration and validated. Our factory service engineers are trained to understand the critical performance characteristics and have access to all necessary specifications and OEM components required to insure proper operation. Medivators Technical Services provides the highest quality support available for the Medivators products and technology. Purchasing a service plan from Medivators offers the following critical advantages: Only Medivators service engineers go through a multi-step training program in order to obtain certification to work on Medivators hardware and software. The certification is renewed every year to ensure that service engineers maintain this standard of excellence. Only Medivators service engineers have full and exclusive access to Medivators latest technical developments, repair procedures, software application updates, and planned maintenance procedures. Contract customers have unlimited access the Medivators Technical Support Center. The Technical Support Center is staffed by senior service engineers and provides the highest level of expertise for troubleshooting Medivators AER s, which helps to speed call resolution and assists customers in maximizing productivity. Medivators maintains the necessary staffing levels of factory-trained service engineers to provide rapid service response. Medivators is recognized as Best in Class by MD Buyline for overall repair quality and service response time.
