- Description
- The Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) Program Management Office (PMO) is working toward acquiring a replacement Weapon System (WS) for the aging E-4B, National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC). Updated capability needs and operational requirements have potentially altered the viable technical solutions for SAOC. The associated requirement from the classified System Requirements Document (SRD) is available upon request to appropriately cleared companies (see instructions provided below to request draft SRD excerpt). As a result, the Government is willing to consider used commercial derivative aircraft. Additionally, the Government intends to continue to pursue a full and open acquisition strategy for the entire weapon system using a very large platform. It is anticipated that EMD will result in 2-4 modified EMD aircraft, associated ground support equipment, and a SAOC WS production design. ------------------------------------------------------- The purpose of Request for Information (WVS-SAOC-INFO REL2-006) is to solicit further information to help the Government develop the program acquisition strategy requestingindustry feedback on: Production aircraft Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) Schedule Design technology readiness levels ------------------------------------------------------ The purpose of this posting (WVS-SAOC-RFI3-SRD) is for the SAOC PMO toreleasea fourth draftSystem Requirements Document (SRD) via classified media to interested companies holding the appropriate facility clearance. We arerequesting feedback from Industry on the following topics: Identification of any requirements with ambiguity or that lack the needed clarity and completeness, and any recommended changes Identification of requirements that limit design solutions or could add unnecessary risk across the program and recommended changes Missing/incomplete requirements in Section 3 of the SRD ------------------------------------------------------ The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) #4 is to provide industry with insight into the Governments current plans in support of the SAOC Acquisition. The Government is providing updates on the following topics.
