- SCOPE OF WORK /SPECIFICATION 1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The work consists of vendor providing Class 2 arc-flash rated rental uniform services to the Salem VA Medical Center Electrical Department as described herein. 2. COMMENCEMENT OF SERVICES: The vendor shall commence providing rental uniform services as agreed no later than two weeks after contract award. SCOPE OF WORK: Provide all labor, equipment and material necessary for full-service Class 2 arc-flash rated uniform rental as follows: Vendor will provide uniforms for seven employees, 11 uniform sets per employee, including 11 pants and 11 long-sleeve shirts, 11 base layer shirts, 1 Lightweight Coverall, 1 Medium / Heavyweight Coverall, 1 Arc Flash Glove kit (includes 2 pairs of Class 0 rubber insulating gloves, 1 pair leather protectors, insulating glove liners, and 1 carrying bag) Pants shall be 344 CARHARTT® FR CARGO PANT 8.5 oz, 48% Tencel®/40% Modacrylic/12% Aramid ATPV 8.8, ARC 2, UL 2112 Certified or equivalent Shirt shall 294 CARHARTT® FR SHIRT 6.5 oz, 88% Cotton/12% high tenacity Nylon Navy (20) ATPV 9.5, ARC 2, UL 2112 Certified, ASTM 1506 or equivalent c. Base layer shall be 60081 CARHARTT® FR BASE LAYER 6 oz, 93% Cotton/7% Spandex, ATPV 7.4, ARC 1, UL 2112 Certified or equivalent. d. Medium/Heavyweight coverall shall be 391 CARHARTT® FR COVERALL 7 oz, 88% Cotton/12% high tenacity Nylon twill ATPV 8.6, ARC 2, UL 2112 Certified, ASTM 1506 or equivalent e. Lightweight coveralls shall be 387 CARHARTT® FEATHERWEIGHT FR COVERALL 5.3 oz, GlenGuard® ULTRALIGHT 74% Meta-Aramid/20% Modacrylic/5% Para-Aramid/1% Anti-Stat ATPV 9.5, ARC 2, UL 2112 Certified or equivalent f. Glove kit shall consist of 2 pairs of Class 0 (zero) rubber insulating gloves, 1 pair of leather insulating gloves protectors, 1 pair of rubber insulating gloves knit glove inserts, 1 carrying bag. Initial sizing/fitting services for current staff will be provided by vendor. Current number of employees may vary depending on Electric Shop FTE. Cost for uniforms to be based on number of employees. Any future employee will be fitted and provided uniforms no later than 10 working days after notification by Electric Shop Foreman. All uniforms components provided by this service shall be Arc-Flash Category (HFC) 2 rated per NFPA 70E, NFPA/UL 2112, NFPA 2113, and 29 CFR 1910.132(a), with a minimum ATPV of 8.0 Vendor will provide weekly drop-off of clean uniforms, pressed and hung on vendor provided clothes hangers at a location indicated by COR at Salem VAMC s Building 76 located at 1970 Roanoke Blvd, Salem, Virginia, 24153. Vendor shall pick up soiled uniforms at same location for laundering and return the following week; a vendor-supplied laundry receptacle of adequate size will be provided for soiled clothing storage. Drop-off and pickup shall occur every Friday between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm; if any Friday is a Federal Holiday, pickup and drop-off shall occur on the preceding Thursday between the hours of 1:00pm and 4:00pm. The CO shall provide a Federal Holiday schedule to the vendor. All soiled uniform components will be cleaned, inspected, maintained, and repaired per manufacturer s specification to retain arc-flash rating on a weekly basis Any uniform component deemed non-repairable, permanently stained or that no longer meets NFPA, UL or manufacturers arc-flash rating criteria shall be removed from service and replaced in-kind by vendor at no additional cost to Salem VA Medical Center.
