Description
The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 6, on behalf of Durham VA Medical Center, intends to negotiate a sole source Firm-Fixed Price contract for Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) for Stryker beds and stretchers at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center with Stryker Corporation in accordance with 41 U.S.C. ยง3304(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source. Performance work statement and attachment-one equipment list is appended. The Government intends to award a one-year (1) base plus two (2) one-year option contract. This is not a request for competitive offers and no solicitation is available. Market research has determined that these services are only available from a single source without an unacceptable delay or duplication of cost and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to award the contract with an effective date on or about 29 October 2021 to Stryker Corporation, 3800 East Central Ave, Kalamazoo, MI, 49001. The Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) sought supports life cycle maintenance on the hospital bed and stretcher and is critical to sustaining healthcare capacity in Veteran Affairs Medical Centers. Further, Stryker Corporation is the Original Equipment manufacturer (OEM), and repair parts must be compatible with existing Stryker beds (Model No FL28-GoBed and 5700-Spirit Select) and Stretchers (Model No 1005-SM104 and 1125-Prime Zoom) and its accessories. Stryker corporation only uses OEM parts for repairs and has exclusive use of certain proprietary tools for diagnostics and repairs for their Beds and stretcher platform. This synopsis announcement is being issued for information purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or request for competitive proposals. If a firm believes it is capable of meeting the Government's requirement, it may identify their interest and capability to the Contracting Specialist within seven (7) calendar days of this publication by contacting Paul O. Waite via e-mail at paul.waite@va.gov Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. Those interested firms must indicate whether they are large, small, small-disadvantaged, 8(a) or woman owned business and whether they are U.S. or foreign owned. Respondents who submit proprietary data shall clearly mark the data with appropriate markings. The Government will not pay for any information submitted as a result of this synopsis. This synopsis shall not be construed as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. This announcement closes 25 October 2021, NLT 02:30 PM EDT.
