- Description
- RFI for capabilities statements: Instructions and Details: The STORM mission is a magnetospheric imaging mission that observes the Earths magnetosphere from a circular orbit with a radius of 30 Earths Radii. One of STORMs prime instruments is the X-ray Imager (XRI). XRI is a wide field-of-view x-ray telescope consisting of a segmented X-ray MicroPore Optic (MPO), and a microchannel plate focal plane. The STORM mission is seeking a source for the x-ray focusing MicroPore optics with the specifications listed in section 2.2. Micropore Optics consist of close packed, square pore microchannel plates, slumped to the specified shape, coated with the specified x-ray reflective material, and with demonstrated x-ray focusing performance. These optics are spaceflight items. Responses should include as much design detail and expected capabilities you wish the Government to consider, in addition to any flight heritage and/or previous qualification testing performed. Responses to this RFI/Sources Sought shall indicate the respondents capability to perform the following: Fabricate, test, and deliver spaceflight micropore optics with the specifications listed in section 2.2 and with quantities and delivery schedule as specified in section 2.4. This RFI/Sources Sought is open to all types of organizations, including individuals, United States (U.S.) industry, universities, nonprofit organizations, NASA Centers, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, other U. S. Government agencies, and international organizations. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION FOUND IN POSTING ATTACHMENT.
