SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS PR FD2060-22-00093 �C-5 Hydraulic Ram Air Turbine Drive Pump Deployment Cylinder (NSN 1650-00-121-4462UC / Part Number 2660455) CAUTION: This market survey is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the subject C-5 Galaxy Aircraft Cylinder Assembly for use by United States Air Force (USAF) personnel.� The level of security clearance and amount of foreign participation in this requirement has not been determined.� Contractors/Institutions responding to this market research are placed on notice that participation in this survey may not ensure participation in future solicitations or contract awards.� The government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this survey. INSTRUCTIONS: Below is a document containing a description of the cylinder assembly requirement and a Contractor Capability Survey, which allows you to provide your company�s capability. �(How do we get tech data to provide if requested?) If, after reviewing these documents, you desire to participate in the market research, you should provide documentation that supports your company�s capability in meeting these requirements.� Failure to provide documentation may result in the government being unable to adequately assess your capabilities.� If you lack sufficient experience in a particular area, please provide details explaining how you would overcome the lack of experience/capabilities in order to perform that portion of the requirement (i.e., teaming, subcontracting, etc.) Identify any areas of work that your organization believes should be broken out exclusively for Small Business. Both large and small businesses are encouraged to participate in this Market Research.� Joint ventures or teaming arrangements are encouraged. Questions relative to this market survey should be addressed to janet.butcher@us.af.mil C-5 Hydraulic Ram Air Turbine Drive Pump Deployment Cylinder PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to repair NSN 1650001214462.� Our acquisition strategy is a one-time repair contract for a total of ten (10) units. � The C-5 Hydraulic Ram Air Turbine Drive Pump Deployment Cylinder is a hydraulic actuator that extends and retracts the RAM AIR TURBINE (RAT) on the C-5 aircraft.� The cylinder is used for extending and holding the RAT into the air stream while in flight and for retracting the RAT when its use is no longer required.� The cylinder operates on 3000 psi hydraulic pressure and is located in an unpressurized and unheated compartment on the left side of the aircraft.� It has a locking feature when retracted and provides electrical feedback of the retracted and locked position. Repair of the item shall be performed in accordance with Air Force technical manual (9H2-5-217-3).� Any deviation from the technical manuals shall be approved by Air Force systems engineering.� The repair to be performed requires the contractor to perform teardown, evaluation, repair, testing, procurement of components, packaging, handling, storage, transportation, as well as data collection while maintaining a prompt delivery schedule.
