MARKET SURVEY / SOURCES SOUGHT High Temperature Weapon Suppressor Covers Document Type:� Market Survey / Sources Sought Notice Response Date:� 15 days from publication Classification Code:� 10-Weapons Subject:� Suppressor Cover THIS IS A MARKET SURVEY / SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY: DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command-New Jersey at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 is conducting a market survey / sources sought notice on behalf of the Project Manager Soldier Lethality (PMSL) for commercial / non-developmental, high temperature weapon suppressor covers.� The suppressor covers should be able to: Reduce Thermal Mirage:� The suppressor covers should reduce thermal mirage caused by hot suppressors.� Thermal mirage impact direct view optics and thermal imagery devices. Improve Operator Safety: The suppressor covers should reduce the risk of severe burns.� The suppressor covers should make it safer for Soldiers to maneuver and reduce the risk of injury.� Reliably Attach: The suppressor covers should be capable of remaining securely attached to the suppressor during firing.� In general, some suppressor covers have a tendency of falling off of the weapon during firing.� The suppressor covers should remain secured to the weapon despite repetitive firing. ��� The desired capabilities and attributes of the suppressor covers are as follows:� Able to handle up to 900 degrees Fahrenheit (F) for a brief period of time. Able to handle 500 degrees F for a sustained period of time. Capable of being manufactured to diameters between 1.75 inches and 2.37inches Capable of being manufactured to lengths between 6.95 inches and 3.75 inches Minimize thermal mirage impacting direct view optic from a hot suppressor. Minimize thermal bloom impacting thermal image devices from a hot suppressor. Securely fasten to the weapon in such a way as to prevent falling off during firing. Capable of being manufactured in Coyote brown. Can be a flexible textile construction, a rigid cage design, or any other solution that meets the above desired capabilities. SUBMISSION INFORMATION: Interested companies who believe they are capable of providing commercial / non-developmental, high temperature weapon suppressor covers are invited to indicate their interest by providing the Government a brief summary (i.e. no more than 10 pages -- not counting prior contract history) of their company�s capabilities, facilities, personnel and past manufacturing experience. Include a picture of the suppressor cover, how the suppressor cover(s) address the capabilities and attributes listed above, potential monthly production capabilities, and delivery lead times in your response.� Companies are invited to indicate their capabilities by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and other technical data as well as identification of current customers.� A TECHNICAL DATA PACKAGE (TDP) WILL NOT BE PROVIDED IN SUPPORT OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.� Please identify the subject of your response as, �High Temperature Weapon Suppressor Covers�.
