Description
Synopsis for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) HyTEC Appendix A: Combustion Technologies As part of the NASA Advanced Air Vehicles Program (AAVP), a new project has been developed called HyTEC in which NASA intends to accelerate the development of small turbofan engine core technologies, culminating in an advanced core ground demonstration in the 2026 timeframe. NASA intends to collaborate with industry in a cost sharing arrangement to accelerate key technologies that can strengthen the U.S. industrys position on small cores for a future single-aisle aircraft. May 2021, NASA identified candidate technology areas for this collaboration. These individual technologies were related to the High Pressure Compressor (HPC), High Pressure Turbine (HPT), and Combustor. Recently, NASA intends to add an appendix to this announcement for the Combustion Technologies as a part of the first phase technology development effort. HyTECs first phase will focus on the development of these individual technologies through subsystem or component tests. These efforts will accelerate and mature the needed technologies to Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) of 4-5. The Government does NOT intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541715 and 1,500, respectively. The anticipated release date of the NRA is on or about November 5, 2021 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about December 20, 2021. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/pub library/Omb.html If an announcement is released, then it and any additional documents will be available on www.sam.gov. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor this website for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
