BACKGROUND: The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Research and Development Center (RDC), New London, CT, is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to gather information regarding commercial?cognitive training. The RDC is tasked to improve cognitive skills and decision-making in law enforcement operators under pressure (e.g. high-risk boarding operations/ counter-terrorism operations/etc). This RFI is to assess the available cognitive training technologies and methods in industry to support this effort. The RDC is particularly interested in response inhibition cognitive training programs to determine viability to improve operator reaction times, accuracy of decision making under high-stress scenarios, and retention of information seen/received. The cognitive training program is expected to be used by 10-50 trainees for 10-30 minutes per day (in conjunction with their workdays), 3-5 times per week, for a duration of about 4-8 weeks. The preferred delivery method of the cognitive training is deployed on either a standard Windows PC or an extended reality headset technology. The RDC will also consider cognitive training companies that have their own facilities or mobile setup. However, see the attached Question and Answer attachment for specifics on geolocations.Ideally, the cognitive training technology will allow an active control group to use the same technology without the anticipated benefits of the cognitive training group, while equating expectations across groups. RESPONSE INSTRUCTIONS: The deadline for final responses to this RFI is19Nov2021.?Responses to this market survey should be sent toRDC-SMB-BVLOS@uscg.mil.If your email response is greater than 10 megabytes (MB), break the submission into multiple sequentially numbered emails of 10 MB or less. Please limit electronic responses to no more than 20 pages.
