Special Notice Special Notice Page 2 of 2 Page 2 of 2 This is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source the following requirement. Full-service contract for Siemens Life Safety Systems Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(2), requirements at (FAR) 13.501(a) for purchases exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT). Contracting Officers may solicit from only one source if the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand name, or industrial mobilization). This is not a request for proposals. This notice does not represent a commitment by the government to pay for costs incurred from the preparation and/or submission of data in response to this notice. Written responses to this Notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. Information received in response to this Notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. Description: The VA Maryland Health Care System requires Base +4-year service contract to maintain Siemens Life Safety Systems, workstations and systems, and associated Life Safety equipment. Parts shall be OEM, all service technicians shall be OEM trained, and software updates shall be provided. Remote support and field support will also be provided, 24/7. Scope of Work: Contractor will provide all labor, supplies and equipment necessary to perform testing and preventive maintenance and repairs outlined in this Scope of Work for the Siemens Fire Alarm Life Safety System at the VA Medical Center located at 50 Irving Street, NW, Washington DC 20422. The Command Center with the NCC is located in the main building. Contractor must report to the COR/Fire Command Center prior to beginning work in the building and notify the Building Manager and/or the Building Manager of Operations prior to beginning work. Contractor will coordinate with the Building Manager and/or the Building Operations Manager of those days when the employee may be sick and/or on vacation and will not be reporting to work and also provide a revised schedule to perform preventive maintenance or testing that would have otherwise been done. THE VA WILL PROVIDE COMPLETE ACCESS TO ALL DEVICES AS REQUIRED; DEVICES NOT ACCESSIBLE WILL NOT BE TESTED BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER TO RESCHEDULE A TIME AND A DAY TEST THOSE DEVICES ONCE ACCESS HAS BEEN PROVIDED.
