- Notice of Intent to Sole Source This is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source the following requirement. Full-service contract for Cummins Power Systems PM Generators Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(2), requirements at (FAR) 13.501(a) for purchases exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT). Contracting Officers may solicit from only one source if the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand name, or industrial mobilization). This is not a request for proposals. This notice does not represent a commitment by the government to pay for costs incurred from the preparation and/or submission of data in response to this notice. Written responses to this Notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. Information received in response to this Notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. Description: The VA Maryland Health Care System requires the Contractor to furnish and install all labor, tools, materials to perform preventive maintenance and repairs to 8 emergency generators and all associated equipment systems located on the VA Medical Center DC Campus located South East side of the facility at 50Irving St N.W 20422 in the scope of work below. The Emergency Generators are used to sustain the essential electrical distribution during a loss of utility and or a change of conditions in the electrical distribution. The Emergency Generators are part of the Life safety system that is required to respond within a 10 second window. Delays in processing this requirement could negatively impact the facility and the patients and employees and visitors that occupy the facility. Scope of Work: Contractor shall provide all resources necessary to perform monthly & annual preventive maintenance services on generator systems installed at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Generator systems include 8 standby emergency generator sets, 20 transfer switches, and all associated control panels, switchgear/paralleling and monitoring systems. The furnishing of any repairs or parts not already included in the price of the preventive maintenance services is OUTSIDE THE SCOPE of this contract. Contractor shall immediately notify the Contracting Officers Representative, IN WRITING, of the existence or the development of any defects in, or repairs required to the generator system components which the Contractor is not responsible for under the terms of the contract and furnish a written estimate of the cost to make necessary repair. If deficiencies are discovered during a preventive maintenance service visit that necessitate repair/replacement of system components, then they shall be procured via a separate agreement (i.e., purchase card or another contract, as appropriate).
