Description

The MCIEast Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order JEOL USA Inc. (CAGE Code: 51043) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for the preventative maintenance of three JEOL scanning electron microscopes for the Fleet Readiness Center East (NAICS 811219) per the Performance Work Statement.� Market research has revealed JEOL USA Inc. is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for this item and therefore holds all proprietary data and rights with no authorized distributors/re-sellers/servicers for these products.� For this reason, JEOL USA Inc. is the only source capable of providing the required preventative maintenance services.� Therefore, the government intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis from JEOL USA Inc., the OEM of the scanning electron microscopes. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this notice will be considered.�� Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
