- Page 2 of 2 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) is searching for vendors with the capability of providing hospital laundry services to several VA Medical Centers in Wisconsin and Illinois. The VA Medical facilities and scope are as follows: Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center Jesse Brown VA Medical Center 5000 W National Avenue 820 S Damen Avenue Milwaukee, WI 53295 Chicago, IL 60612 Approx. 1.4 million pounds laundry Approx. 980,000 pounds laundry 25,000 surgical grid marking Approx. 26,000 towels Edward Hines Jr VA Hospital Captain James A Lovell Federal 5000 S 5th Avenue Health Care Center Hines, IL 60141 3001 Green Bay Road Approx. 1.5 million pounds laundry North Chicago, IL 60064 Approx. 1 million pounds laundry 3590 Cart Assembly; 24 Z-racks All workmanship shall be in accordance with practices established by the National Association of Institutional Linen Management (NAILM), International Fabricate Institute (IFI), Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA) and accepted industry standards. It is intended that services shall include all processes necessary for the laundering and finishing of the articles even though every step involved is not specifically mentioned. All work shall be performed under sanitary conditions as specified by The Joint Commission and Center for Disease Control (CDC); physical separation, through the presence of a barrier wall and the use of pass-through equipment is required to maintain positive air pressure in the clean section relative to a negative air pressure in the soiled section. Plants in which the work is done shall be open to unannounced inspection of sanitary conditions and workload processing by Government representatives or consultants requested by VA. After processing, laundered articles shall be in serviceable and sanitary condition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 812332. All interested, responsible sources must submit a capability statement by Thursday, November 4, 2021 by 12:00 p.m. local time to erika.cannaday@va.gov to include the following: Company Experience in providing laundry services for hospital facilities, to include number of years and any examples of current contracts in place with government or commercial entities; Evidence sufficient to show Company s ability to meet the standards and requirements outlined in the Statement of Work; Customer point of contact information for contracts listed in company experience along with a description of services provided under the contract (types of services provided, volume, geographic service area covered); Evidence of compliance with practices established by NAILM, IFI, TRSA and accepted industry standards, the Joint Commission and the CDC, including the presence of a barrier wall and use of pass-through equipment; Example(s) of quality control programs and procedures currently utilized; DUNS number, organization name, organization address, point of contact, business size under NAICS 812332, and socioeconomic status; Certifications and licensures, if any. This RFI is issued solely for informational purposes to determine availability of qualified vendors and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. Please note that this is not a request for proposal and the Government is seeking information for market research purposes only. The Government may or may not issue solicitation documents.
