Description

The purpose of this requirement is for a research project to determine the extent to which the equal energy hypothesis accurately predicts temporary threshold shifts (TTS) for long-duration tonal exposures with qualities simulating continuously active sonar (CAS) in support of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC), Environmental, Living Marine Resources�Program.� This project will determine the extent to which the equal energy hypothesis can be used to predict TTS for exposures ranging from 7.5 to 60 minutes. This project will also determine if linear frequency modulation common to CAS reduces TTS effects relative to continuous wave tones with equal sound exposure level. The Period of Performance is from 2�November 2021 to 31 December 2023.
