- Description
- ***** This is a REQUEST FOR INTEREST ONLY! This request does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid. The intent of this request is to identify potential offerors for market research purposes only. ***** Request for Information (RFI) Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS), which manages and operates portions of the Savannah River Site (SRS) under a Department of Energy (DOE) prime contract, solicits expressions of interest from potential suppliers who have a strong background in the design, fabrication, and installation of chillers in an industrial application. This RFI is issued to assist with finding potential suppliers interested in this solicitation. The SRS is located approximately 15 miles south of Aiken, South Carolina and is 310 contiguous square miles. Scope Summary: Provide labor, materials, and services required for the design, fabrication, inspection, testing, documentation, delivery, installation support, and technical startup support of two (2) nitrogen chiller units. General requirements are as follows: Two (2) refrigeration units with each having a minimum rated capacity of 258,000 BTU/hr (21.5 tons) to cool process nitrogen gas to a temperature of -60F (negative 60 degrees Fahrenheit). Each chiller is to deliver -60F nitrogen gas at a flow rate of 22,800 lbm/hr based on a -16F inlet gas operating temperature. Refrigerant used in the chillers shall not be scheduled to become obsolete for a minimum of 15 years as described in Title VI of the Clean Air Act. The refrigerant shall be listed as an acceptable refrigerant per the EPAs SNAP program and be non-toxic/non-flammable. Chillers will be installed inside an existing facility with minimum access and clearance for movement to the final installed location within the facility. Thus, the Chillers shall be of a modular design consisting of compressor, evaporator, and condenser skids to allow for entry and transport within the facility. The limiting dimensions for movement within the facility is 5 W x 14 L x 6 4 H. Each chiller skid shall be as complete as possible with piping, fittings, tubing, valves, electrical devices (motors, panels junction boxes, etc.), cabling and appurtenances from the factory to limit the amount of field welding and assembly required during installation. Final maximum envelope size for each fully assembled chiller unit shall be 14 L x 11-4 W x 10 H, including the control panel. A supplier's response to the RFI does not guarantee they will be selected to participate in the RFP. Suppliers responding to this RFI shall include evidence of the following: Past performance/personnel qualifications Quality Assurance Manual (Uncontrolled copy) Scheduling competency Familiarity with EVMS Qualification for codes and standards Lead time for design and fabrication E-mail response addressing Items 1 through 6 above shall be submitted by 5:00 p.m. est. on 11/23/21 to Barbara McCarty at barbara.mccarty@srs.gov.
