- Description
- The Department of the Interior, United States Geological Survey (USGS), Sacramento Acquisition Branch, plans to contract by means other than full and open competition. The USGS intends to make a non-competitive firm fixed price purchase order to Kinemetrics Inc, located in Pasadena CA for seismic cables that is compatible with existing Kinemetrics equipment. Required Equipment: Cable, Molded, Q330-STS-2.5, 50ft PN: 110959-PL Cable, Hand Built, Q330 to Episensor, 50ft PN: 111063-50-PL Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-(b) (1) and the procedures at FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 entitled, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Kinemetrics Inc is, to the USGS the only source that can provide the necessary product that is compatible with existing Kinemetrics equipment. The purpose of this notice is to satisfy the requirements of FAR Subpart 5.2. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible parties may submit a capability statement or proposal by the closing date of this announcement which shall be considered by the agency. No solicitation will be issued. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government. The NAICS code for this action is 334513 Measuring Device, 750 employees.
