- Description
- This Synopsis is being posted in accordance with (IAW) Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.201. The Fixed Wing Project Office (FW PO) of Program Executive Office (PEO) Aviation, Redstone Arsenal, AL has a requirement for the installation of the Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) and the AN/APR-39 outer-mold-line (OML) housing fixtures on the DeHavilland Canada (DHC) 8-315 aircraft. Leidos has designed, developed and manufactured the Saturn Arch and RO6A DHC 8-315 specific Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) OML for the Army�s DHC 8-315 aircraft. Leidos has also developed the specific Saturn Arch and RO6A DHC 8-315 CMWS and AN/APR-39 installation alignment procedures specifically for the ASE OML. The CMWS and AN/APR-39 systems require an extremely high degree of installation accuracy in order to render the systems effective. Army Contracting Command-Redstone intends to issue a Sole Source solicitation to Leidos, Inc. (CAGE 5UTE0) under the authority of 10 United States Code (U.S.C.) 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(B), -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency�s requirements. Based on their highly specialized and unique knowledge and experience, Leidos, Inc. is the only vendor capable of sustaining, operating, testing, and conducting the required installations for the Army�s fleet of DHC 8-315 Aerial Intelligence Systems. Leidos, Inc. has the existing manufacturing expertise, personnel, and installation capabilities necessary to successfully accomplish the required services within the timeframe needed to meet this requirement. ****ATTENTION****FORMAL COMMUNICATION RELATED TO THIS ACQUISITION SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO:� Kelly E.
