Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. THERE WILL NOT BE A SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS, OR DRAWINGS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. The purpose of this sources sought is to determine if there are commercially available valve actuators with equivalent specifications of the LIMITORQUE MODEL L120 detailed in Attachment 2 Technical Information. Key salient features are as follows: Compatibility with rising stem gate valves and butterfly valves. Multi-turn gear box for gate valves and quarter-turn gear box for butterfly valves will be NEMA 4, powder coated cast aluminum housing. The gearing will consist of a self-locking worm shaft, alloy bronze worm gear and heat-treated steel spur gear. Removable high-strength alloy bronze stem nut machined to suit the valve stem. Handwheel with declutch lever for backup manual operation. Integral controller with a built-in anti-condensation heater. Each controller will be of the reversing-duty type, completely internally wired, enclosed in a NEMA 4, powder coated cast aluminum housing. Local continuous mechanical-type position valve indicator. Full-travel limit switches to stop motion in both open and closed positions. A torque limiting device or control to prevent damage to equipment by disconnecting the source of power if a valve should be obstructed in either the open or close direction of travel or if the limit switches fail to function. The position limit switch and torque switch contacts shall be rated 600 volts per NEMA standard ICS 2-125, heavy duty. Electric motors will be IP 67 construction, high-torque, squirrel cage, reversible type with moisture-proof windings designed for 480-volt, three phase, and 60 hertz. The attachment and key salient noted above describes the required equipment for the Dry Dock 1 Caisson Replacement project at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. This is a market research tool being used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential sources prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of an award. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. It is requested that interested vendors submit to the contracting office a brief capabilities statement package (no more than 5 pages total) demonstrating the ability to provide the product with the specifications described above. Interested Sources are invited to respond to this Source Sought by completing Attachment 1 Company Information and Attachment 2 Technical Information. The Capabilities Statement Package shall not exceed 5 pages and shall ONLY be submitted electronically to Brittany Cristelli, brittany.cristelli@navy.mil and MUST be limited to a 4MB attachment. You are encouraged to request a read receipt or acknowledgement via reply email. RESPONSES ARE DUE NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, 23 NOVEMBER 2021 AT 2:00 PM EASTERN TIME. LATE RESPONSES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
