Description

THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE POSTED ON OR ABOUT DECEMBER 8, 2021. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project at Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center (MGVC) includes the following work: Demolition and removal of existing roof assembly down to the structural deck, Installation of temporary roofing system, Installation of Polyvinyl-Chloride (PVC) Membrane roof assembly, including substrate boards, vapor retarder, walkways, roof insulation and accessories, Parapet Work: Build up a step in a section of parapet on the observatory roof, new parapet cap flashing and spray foam insulation in parapets, Install an additional roof drain with associated plumbing to tie into the existing system as drawn and any Miscellaneous other work as defined. One option item will also be included in the solicitation: Roof Ice Melt System: This work includes installation of an ice melt system at all roof drains and overflows and all associated electrical work. PROJECT LOCATION: This project is located in the Tongass National Forest, 6000 Glacier Spur Rd, Juneau, AK, US, 99801.� Contractors shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, transportation, supplies (unless specified elsewhere as Government-furnished), and incidentals required to accomplish specified work in compliance with the terms, specifications, and provisions of the contract. Work is estimated to begin around April 1, 2022. Engineering point of contact is Melinda Kemp, telephone: (907)617-1111. Both performance and payment bonds will be required for this project as well as a bid guarantee. Estimated project value is between $250,000 and $500,000. NAICS 236220 with size standard $39.5 mil. This project is set aside 100% for small business.
