Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement to acquire the Maintenance Display Replacement (MDR) Video Processor and BNC Input Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) to support the replacement of the Airport Surface Radar Model 9 (ASR-9) Maintenance Display Unit (MDU). The purpose of this market survey is to assess industrys capability to manufacture a MDR Video Processor and BNC Input CCAs, and to determine if adequate competition exists among qualified small business concerns to restrict the competition to small business participation only. TheMDU subsystemservesthepurposeofdisplayingselectedtargetsandweather video for maintenanceandtroubleshootingpurposes. The Government has identified critical deficiencies and necessary improvements to the legacy MDU subsystem to maintain operational readiness of the ASR-9 system, upgrade the legacy MDU to leverage technological advances in performance, and facilitate its maintenance and serviceability by improvements to its design. The Government is in the process of completing the design of the MDR CCA. A draft Manufacturing Specification and Bill of Materials (BOM) are included as part of Section 10, Attachments.
