- Upgrade 11 Parking gates remove existing controllers and replace with new Parking Pro-M gates and controllers? There are no gates made by magnetic by that name, can you confirm model number please? We currently have 3M gates and they are outdated and can no longer get parts for them. We are looking at Parking Pro-M gates from Magnetic Autocontrol. Not sure what the model number is but the web site is www.ac-magnetic.com/usa then look at Parking Pro. Are the arms for operators straight arms or articulated for low height use? What length or arms are you looking for 10 12 ? 10 Straight Do you have any pictures of existing gate operators and locations? No I am hoping to find out if there is an incumbent contractor currently performing these services, if similar services have been performed in the past, or if this is a new requirement. No Are Pro-M Gates the only approved solution or would a comparable product from another manufacturer be approved? No Is the contractor reconnecting existing card access controls or remote gate releases or installing new? Connect existing Card access Are there any milestones, important dates, or time constraints? No What are some potential obstacles that could arise and cause delays for the contractor? None Is the contractor required to check in with site representative daily, upon arrival and exiting job site? Yes Should changes in agreed upon design occur during project, how should the contractor address those with the client? Yes, email Contracting Officer Is there a COVID-19 protocol that the contractor should be aware of? Yes, checking in with COVID reps. Will the contractor and team be required to take a COVID-19 test daily or weekly? Will have to ask COVID reps. Will the contractor be given authorization to store materials onsite? Yes In order to give you an accurate estimate, we need access to the property. Please advise if you are going to have a scheduled site visit or who to contact at the facility in order to make arrangements for an inspection by our team. There appear to be 13 total electric traffic arms at the Nashville VAMC campus. Please clarify which 11 systems in Section B.1 should be replaced through this solicitation, or if all 13 should be replaced. All 13 Are the electric and signal pathways and wires to all traffic arms still intact? Should contractors assume reuse of existing wire in their bids? Yes, Yes There appear to be 2 access control system circuit boards in many of the current traffic arm enclosures. Will the offeror be responsible for removing and reinstalling existing access control equipment to the new traffic arm controllers and integrating it with the new traffic arms? No, using existing wires What is the desired traffic arm length? Are all traffic arms the same length? 10 Straight We understand that the West Security Booth traffic arms both have 2 loops (2 per arm) that need to be replaced, to include bringing new lead wire to the traffic arm. Please confirm that the contractor is not responsible for the replacement of any other roadway loops. true What response time is desired for technical support (Paragraph B1.3)? Is on-site presence required to meet this requirement? One year and possible extension Please confirm that all traffic arms are controlled by access control devices (card swipe and/ or keypads) at each location, and that this equipment must be integrated with the new traffic arms. Yes Please confirm that all traffic arms are centrally controlled from a remote panel that will not be replaced but must be integrated with the new traffic arms. Yes Please confirm that the 2 traffic arms near the intersection of Highland Ave and 24th Ave S require new fiber optic cable installed for communications since the existing CAT5 cable is too long to provide reliable communication along with the appropriate media converters at the traffic arms and the central control station. Yes Is on-site material storage available for contractors? Yes Are LED lighting strips required for the traffic arms? No Is a specific color or paint scheme required for the arms or the base units (operators)? No Does each traffic arm need to provide a position signal to the central remote-control panel for both the up and down position, or is just reporting whether it is down or not sufficient?
