Description

SCOPE OF WORK AND GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS Background: The establishment of an inpatient Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) program at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical center was approved by the Deputy Under Secretary for Health for Operations and Management (DUSHOM) and Acting Principal Deputy Under Secretary for health on September 14, 2018. The program also was approved by the Office of the Under Secretary for Health (USH) on Sept 14, 2018. Based on those approvals, MEDVAMC started an inpatient PD program in 2019. Veterans on this modality of dialysis use the automated peritoneal dialysis cycler machine at home. When hospitalized, MEDVAMC will provide a cycler to perform peritoneal dialysis. Baxter has a VA national contract for supply of PD machines and fluids. We request approval for obtaining the AMIA ® PD machine for Veterans use while in hospital. Project Scope: The overall estimated price of this project is $0.00/month for lease option or ~0.00 for purchase option. The lease option is preferred as this includes continuous support and upgrades to newer models. The purchase option only covers support for a year.
