Description
Page 3 of 3 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IS ISSUED SOLELY FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION PURPOSE This is a Request for Information (RFI), this is not a Request for Quotes (RFQ). No formal solicitation document exists at this present time. This is not a solicitation announcement. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice will be utilized by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this RFI, a solicitation announcement may or may not be published in Contract Opportunities. STATEMENT OF NEED The VAMC in Huntington WV has the need for approximately 90 lifts, regular and bariatric. These lifts will be ceiling mounted and will need to be installed after the de-installation and removal of the existing system. DETAILED INFORMATION The facility has a specific need for patient lifts (hoists) that have the capability to automatically provide hands free, dynamic body weight support and fall protection in real time during rehab or mobility sessions. Clinical staff must be able to enter a specified offload weight directly into the hand control, after which the lift must continually offload the specified weight as patient moves and their center of gravity changes, without the need for staff to continue operating the hand control. Offload weight must be adjustable during a single session so that a patient can progress during that session. At all other times the hoist must be able to be used as a normal ceiling lift system for standard transfers and repositioning, as well as weighing patients without the need for an external scale system. The facility has a specific need to be able to lock the lifting module and/or the traverse rail in a given position in a full-room covering rail system in order to isolate an activity area, which would be used for rehabilitation and retraining of both bed-bound and more mobile users. The rails must be capable of accommodating stationary locks for lift unit and/or traverse rail with user capability via hand control. Activating the locks on the parallel rails makes it possible to secure the sideways movement of the traverse rail, resulting in the traverse rail functioning as a fixed single rail. The lifting motor can still be moved forwards along the traverse rail, making it easier to use the system for gait training. If the lock linked to the lifting motor is activated, the traverse rail can be moved without the lifting module shifting sideways. Activating all three locks secures the lifting motor in a given position, which is helpful when the user is carrying out training exercises in bed. The facility wishes to be able to track the use of the lift systems in order to ensure the success of our safe patient handling program. The requirement is for usage analytics and maintenance analytics software, which can be monitored and analyzed remotely via the facility s existing Wi-Fi. The facility has a requirement for patient lift systems with scales that do not reduce lifting height and for this reason, externally attached scales cannot be considered. Additionally, the patient s weight must be easily read by staff. If you are interested and capable, and can provide the required supplies/services, please provide the requested information as indicated below: Provide company name, address, point of contact, DUNS number, and Cage code. Are the items you are suggesting on contract with your GSA, SAC, NAC VA contractor other Federal contract? If so, please provide the contract types, contract number, category(s), sin, and source code. Clearly indicate if any part of your submission would be open market. Provide business size status and representations for the above NAICS and PSC code. Indicate product name/manufacturer Provide a current Authorized Distributor letter if you are not the manufacturer RFI responses due no later than FRIDAY DECEMBER 3RD, 2021 at 16:00hrs (4pm) NOTE All vendors must be registered and active in SAM (https://www.sam.gov/SAM/) and, if applicable, registered in VetBiz (https://vip.vetbiz.va.gov/).
