- Description
- The Library of Congress (Library) is issuing this request for information (RFI) as we are interested in the potential solutions available in the marketplace for electronic visitor counting systems and software. The Librarys existing electronic visitor counting camera system is antiquated and at the end of life. The Library is looking for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions to replace the existing system with a new system that may potentially be expanded in future years with additional sensors in additional locations. Through this RFI, the Library intends to explore the capabilities of modern visitor counting, tracking and analytics systems on its Capitol Hill campus in Washington, D.C. Diverse audiences from around the world make the Library their destination for a variety of reasons. In order to deepen the Center for Learning, Literacy and Engagements (CLLE) and the Librarys understanding of these visitors and their interests, staff need to gather and evaluate visitor data and traffic flows at entrances, exits, and throughout exhibition galleries and other discrete spaces. Data reports from new electronic equipment that counts people as they pass through various locations will provide ways for the Library to analyze information that is essential for assigning staff resources, adjusting hours of operation, and strengthening our visitor service capabilities. Moreover, the data collected will permit the Library to develop an audience-centric strategy for engaging with visitors and fostering lifelong connections to the Library. Finally, an electronic system will help the Library control capacity within spaces to enable visitors to maintain physical distancing given new pandemic guidelines. If you or your organization is interested in this requirement please see the attached documents inthis posting. The Library has tried to provide a large amount of information to vendors on the Library's requirements along with specific information the Library is interested in. Please note that the Library may have additional conversations or one-on-one meetingswith interested parties as part of our ongoing market research based on theresponses to this RFI. A breakdown of the attachments are below: 1.RFI-Electronic Visitor Counting and Analytics System - Start here as this document provides more background information and includesspecific questions the Library has for interested parties regarding your organization's potential solution. There is also information on how to structure your response to this RFI. Please note the Library is open to partial responses from vendors in the event you don't have time to answer all of our questions, we just ask that general untailored marketing informationnot be provided as a response. 2.LIBN_VCSAT_RFI_100720_Requirements_ReportSample-1 - This document lists out some of the additional features the Library is interested in along with potential samplereports the Library is looking for from a solution. 3.Draft SOW_Electronic Visitor Counting and Analytics System - This is a draft statement of work and we are interested in vendor feedback on this document. If you believe there is missing information that you think is important for us to include or things you think we have not considered please let us know in your response. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes it does not constitute a request for proposal (RFP) a request for quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFP/RFQ in the future. This RFI does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Library is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondents are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested partys expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP/RFQ, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it may be synopsized on the SAM.gov website or may be posted elsewhere. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement. Please note that the Library is not interested in general marketing information but rather specific information on potential solutions that may meet the Library's requirements.
