Description

CONSTRUCT BASE BUILDING GENERATOR AND ENCLOSURE FOR SMITHSONIAN ASTROPHYSICAL OBSERVATORY, SUBMILLIMETER ARRAY BASE FACILITY (SMA) IN HILO, HAWAII The Smithsonian Institution (SI) is seeking offers to Construct and Install Base Building Generator and Enclosure at the Smithsonian Institution�s SMA Facility. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this action is 236220 and the small business size standard is $39.5M. PROJECT INFORMATION: The Work includes but is not limited to (1) site work for construction of apron and structural slab for Building Generator and Enclosure, (2) site Infrastructure from slab to existing SMA Building and connections, (3) installation of SI provided CAT9 Generator and ASCO Avtron 4500 Load Bank, and (4) an Option for Construction of Storage Building and Fencing. Successful offerors MUST be capable of performing all work described and contemplated by this solicitation. Critical Elements of the Work: The successful Contractor shall be fully qualified to install critical elements of the Work. Electrical work associated with the installation of Generator and Load Bank Civil site work including grading, site preparation, structural concrete slab Commissioning of the Generator and Load Bank in coordination with Hawthorne CAT The Period of Performance for the Base Contract is 182 Calendar Days from the date of Notice to Proceed. The Option, if exercised, an additional Ninety (90) Days will be added to the Contract completion Time. Total Estimated cost range is between is $900K and $1.5M. LOCATION: Project will be located in 645 A�ohoku Place, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The full solicitation, request for proposals, will be released on or about 15 December 2021; however, there is no guarantee or implication of a guarantee this this project will be solicited. Responses will be due within (45) days of release. Electronic copies will be uploaded to SAM.gov site. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response. The Smithsonian Institution will accept proposals from all qualified offerors. The Smithsonian Institution�s evaluation panel will be the sole entity to determine as to whether an offeror is capable of meeting the requirements to carry out contract performance.
