Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Louisville District will be soliciting proposals for the Repair/Renovate Air Force Maeriel Command (AFMC) Headquarters Package A Renovation at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. As part of the construction contract solicitation, the USACE intends to include the following sole source requirements: Fire Alarm System - The fire alarm system equipment will include a fire alarm control panel/unit, pole stations, room smoke detectors, duct detectors, control relay modules, and local operator controls which are manufactured by Simplex, Inc. headquartered in Westminster, Massachusetts. Simplex, Inc. is the sole manufacturer of the existing equipment being utilized Base-wide for the fire alarm system. Trane HVAC Chillers - The chillers selected for use on the AFMC Headquarters Renovation project at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio are Trane chillers. Trane has offices around the world, with a regional office in Holland, Ohio. The Air Force has implemented an installation standardization of HVAC chiller manufacturers in order to reduce overall costs and increase performance efficiencies. The Air Force has completed an enterprise wide justification and approval, designating the use of Trane chillers for WPAFB. Predator Elite Integration Security Platform - The proprietary Predator Elite Integrated Security Platform equipment will include balanced magnetic switches, motion detectors, glass break sensors, tamper switches, card readers (with/without keypads), local audible alarms, electrified mortise locks, and power supplies which are manufactured by LINX Defense, LLC located in Canton, Ohio. LINX Defense, LLC is the sole manufacturer of the Predator Elite Integrated Security Platform, as well as the sole source manufacturer for the balanced magnetic switches, door locks/strikes, glass break sensors, motion sensors, card readers for doors (both with and without keypads) and all related infrastructure to power the system. Johnson Controls The HVAC controls and monitoring system is proposed for brand name sole sourcing to Johnson Controls. The current Air Force Materiel Command Headquarters utilizes a Johnson Controls system. A Johnson controls system is required in order to ensure compatibility with the other HVAC control and monitoring system components that are currently being used in the facility as this renovation is being conducted in phases. This integration requires a compatible system be installed and the Johnson Controls system is the only compatible component as the building being renovated currently has Johnson Controls integration.
