Description
U. S. Customs and Border protection (CBP) has a requirement to continue renting two (2) mobile office trailers for San Diego & Marine Branch and the Brown Field Air Unit. The trailers are equipped with office furniture and supplies to provide office space at NASNI for branch employees an office space for additional Pilots & contractors the Brown Field Air Unit. The trailers are also equipped with CBP LAN capability, electrical power, security systems and phone lines. The Branch has outgrown the current office space due to a significant increase in staffing. Amendment: This is a notice of intent to Sole Source the rental of two (2) mobile office trailers to Mobile Homes Acceptance Corporation DBA Bert's Office, 1143 E Main St., El Cajon, CA 92021. Only one source is reasonably available for to continue the rental of the two mobile office trailers in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(i). A change in vendor is not reasonable as it would require breaking down the offices completely and having the current trailers remove. The new vendor would then deliver replacement trailers and then reestablish the current infrastructure in place. The trailers consist of mission essential equipment, furniture, internet and telephone systems which are currently installed on site by the current contractor. To reestablish this with a new company would be a major disruption in operations with additional costs to the Government associated with disconnecting and reconnecting utilities from the onsite trailer, removal of the current trailer, delivery and installation of a new trailer and the potential purchase of new furniture. The continuation of the current trailer rentals is in the best interest of the government considering the time and costs associated with replacements trailers which are not deemed necessary at this time.
