- Description
- QUESTION 1: There is only one device on the market that meets the criteria of this RFP Itamar s WatchPAT One. This RFP indicates that the device used must have a failure rate of less than 1%. Itamar s own website indicates a 2% failure rate https://cardiosleepsolutions.com/product/watchpat-one/ but we understand from those in the industry that in many populations it is much higher (as much as 10%). Can you verify with the VA TeleSleep program what their failure rate is with Itamar systems and potentially amend the RFP to reflect this population s more realistic failure rate? RESPONSE: The PWS has been updated to a failure rate of 5% OR LESS which includes patient caused failures in addition to device failures. QUESTION 2: Does the VA require any review of data by personnel by contractor, including: score bad data, score data by personnel? If so, do the personnel need to be either RPSGTs or RSTs? RESPONSE: Sleep tech downloads data/sleep MD interprets data QUESTION 3: Does the VA require contractor to provide any physician interpretation? RESPONSE: Our own Sleep MD interprets Data QUESTION 4: If a patient starts a test and uploads any data, is that a payable test? Such as if the patient moves the probe after a hour or so and does not provide enough data for physician interpretation. What is the definition of a billable test? Will the VA pay for more than one test per patient if the patient uploads inadequate data for an interpretation? RESPONSE:_The VA will only pay for a test that has adequate data for interpretation which shall normally be at least 4 hours of contiguous sleep study data. QUESTION 5: Are there any renewal periods beyond the one year in the PRICE/COST Schedule? RESPONSE: No. There are no option periods beyond one year.
