- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI), Functional Genomics team has a requirement for ribonucleic acid (RNA) processing, including extraction, library preparation, and sequencing. The team needs to collect sequence data from human biological samples, as the second phase of one or more research projects ultimately aimed to assess aerospace-relevant stressors in human subjects. The Contractor must receive samples from the FAA Functional Genomics team, perform library preparation, conduct sequencing on an Illumina instrument, and perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) as appropriate throughout the process (e.g., measurements of nucleic acid quality and quantity). In some cases the Contractor must also extract total RNA (see Exhibit A Table 1). The Contractor also must perform any and all necessary processing steps e.g., dilution or purification of material sent by the FAA to ensure it is in the acceptable threshold range for library preparation and sequencing.
