Description
The Defense Logistics Agency-Aberdeen, on behalf of the United States Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC), intends to procure GMR-500 systems. CECOM�s current requirement for the next five years is to procure 26 GMR-500 systems per year, for a total of 130 GMR-500 systems at the end of the five years.� This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information for the potential requirement described below. Requirements Description: The GMR-500 is part of the aviation connectivity system that provides interface between the Electronic Data Manager (EDM) and other situational awareness devices within the Blue Force Tracker (BFT) system. The BFT system is a satellite based tracking system that provides aircrew, commanders and key personnel within U.S. and coalition forces with on the move, near real time situational awareness (SA) and command and control (C2) communication information and the ability to send and receive data messages beyond line of sight.� The BFT system is critically required for force protection. The Government does not possess the technical data package (TDP) for the GMR-500.� This is not a developmental effort. Current design has been approved by Product Manager � Air Warrior (PdM-AW). The following additional NAICS apply: 334290 The Government requires an estimated quantity of the following: 26 GMR-500 per year for the next five years, totaling 130 GMR-500 (NSN: 5895-01-591-9449) GMR-500 is considered defense unique technology due to the high quality and performance requirements and is covered by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and export control regulations. Requested Response Information: Sources that can manufacture and deliver the GMR-500 are requested to submit information to show their capability to manufacture or supply the GMR-500. At a minimum, information submitted should include but is not limited to the following types of documentation: Questionnaire information on previous Government and commercial contracts, and data rights. In your response, please include your company name, CAGE code, and a technical point of contract with email address and telephone number. Notice, Response Due Date, and Points of Contact: This is NOT a Request for Quote or Proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this SSA or reimburse any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this SSA. This Sources Sought Announcement (SSA) is for planning and market research purposes only, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. The information gathered from this announcement will be used to determine if responsible sources exist, and to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or set aside for Small Business.� Furthermore, the Government will use the information, in part, to determine the best acquisition strategy for a potential procurement action and/or to assist in making acquisition strategy decisions in the future.
