- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)� 1.0 RFI TITLE: Field Portable Dental System (FPDS) 2.0 AGENCY: U.S. Army Medical Material Development Activity (USAMMDA) 3.0 OFFICE: Warfighter Deployed Medical Systems PMO 4.0 LOCATION: 1430 Veterans Drive, Fort Detrick, MD 21702-5009 5.0 SUBJECT: The Warfighter Deployed Medical Systems PMO of USAMMDA is conducting market research to determine whether a commercial solution can be provided to meet requirements for a new Field Portable Dental System.� This market research may also assist with the further development and/or refinement of the requirements. 6.0� DISCLAIMER: This is an RFI as defined in FAR 15.201(e) to ascertain whether a commercial item exists that provides the capabilities described herein.�� This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Neither unsolicited proposals nor any other kind of offers will be considered in response to this RFI. Responses to this notice are not offers and will not be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. In keeping with the standards of FAR Part 10, the Government may request additional information from responders. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI or any follow-up information request. All information received in response to this RFI or any follow-up information request that is marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. At this time, questions concerning the composition and requirements for a future request for proposal will not be entertained. 7.0 DESCRIPTION: Warfighter Deployed Medical Systems PMO of USAMMDA has a requirement to identify and procure a medical Food & Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) cleared, commercial, Field Portable Dental System (FPDS) for use in Army Deployed Medical Role of Care (ROC) 1 and 2. The Field Portable Dental System is a compact and lightweight dental unit used by Army operational dental providers to complete dental procedures ranging from simple to surgical extractions to permanent restorations in austere combat environments. A commercial Field Portable Dental System must be compact, lightweight (operational configuration shall weigh no more than 40 lbs), battery operated dental unit with at least one high-speed handpiece connection capable of 30,000 � 100,000 rpms. The system must charge on 110 and 220 volts, 50/60 hertz power supplies, and not exceed a noise level of 75 decibels (dB) at 36� distance. The FPDS will be used by Army operational dental providers to complete dental procedures ranging from simple to surgical extractions in austere environments. 8.0 SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: Responses from all capable and qualified sources are encouraged to respond to this request. Entities interested in submitting a response must furnish the below completed attachments for submission. The subject header of the email for submission of questions and/or the RFI response shall be: Field Portable Dental System (FPDS), RFI NO: W81XWH-22-HK-FPDS-RFI. All information regarding capabilities statements or any other proprietary information relative to this RFI shall be marked appropriately. Submission should include the following information: White papers should adhere to the following formatting and outline instructions: 1.�� All submissions shall be made electronically and be in one of the following formats: Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF. 2. Cover Page (1 page) Title Organization Responders technical and administrative points of contact (names, addresses, phone, fax number and email addresses) Topic area(s) addressed 3.�� Completed FPDS Attachment 1 and FPDS Attachment 2.� Please note that the response shall provide sufficient technical data to determine how you fully meet the requirements as specified in FPDS Attachment 2.� Please note that responses are due no later than 5 January 2022. Only electronic responses are requested.� No evaluation letters and/or results will be issued to the respondents. At this time no solicitation exists; therefore, please do not request a copy of the solicitation. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.
