- Description
- Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) is seeking industry engagement to help define its capabilities for the Special Reconnaissance (Air Force Specialty Code 1Z4) career field. AFSOC is seeking commercial opportunities for materiel solutions and services. This includes wearable and tactical materiel solutions, development support for Techniques, Tactics & Procedures (TTPs), and support for operator training development and execution. Air Force personnel in this career field obtain, transmit, and action intelligence information for Special Warfare (SW) and Special Tactics (ST) missions. Much of this information requires active and passive digital sensing/reconnaissance to include Signals Intelligence (SI). ST/SW operators use indigenous sources, organic sensing, electronic warfare/electronic attack equipment, and remote controlled technology to facilitate reconnaissance, collection, and processing. Operators also require long-range, kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities for target interdiction. Additional information on this career field can be found in the links below. https://static.e-publishing.af.mil/production/1/af_a3/publication/cfetp1z4xx/cfetp1z4xx.pdf https://www.airforce.com/careers/detail/special-reconnaissance https://www.af.mil/About-Us/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/2290065/special-reconnaissance/ Materiel solutions must be small enough to be operator-carried and rapidly deployable into permissive, hostile, denied, and/or diplomatically sensitive environments. Solutions must retain functionality in an electromagnetic spectrum (EMS)-degraded or denied environments. Countering thermal and infrared signatures are also a concern and should be addressed in the response. Solutions should be interoperable with other commercial off the shelf (COTS) components. Respondents should indicate the situation(s) or use case(s) in which their solution(s) could be employed. Respondents should indicate if they provide any training to operate their materiel solution(s) or continued customer support.
